A discussion About Our Roads

We take the least experienced young people at the age of 18, give them a licence test that a 10 year old could pass with a little coaching, and then when they crash and kill with their 30 year old car with no brakes, tyres, suspension or demisters, we put up a speed camera to stop the speeding.

What if we trained our youth well?

With the correct laws, if we did not allow people to keep cars older than 20 years, unless they were a show car or collectors item. (with a Km limit per annum)

Then our youngest and least experienced drivers would have cars that could stop, turn and accelerate comparative to the rest of the cars on the road. This, in my opinion, coupled with training would do more than any speed camera has done thus far.

What do you think?

Great Link

Hi All,

This is a link to the site of a great friend of mine. He has embarked on family and building in the past 12 months and has proven rather successful. Fun for a look and great for a read.

Building a new

I have decided to build a new home!

The design was set, the plans were drawn, and local municipality authortisation was acheived.

After searching for a builder and receiving multiple quotes, it seems, I am an owner bulider.

It may be just me, but a builder is just a trades person with an endorsment in project planning.

Not a degree! Not a diploma! Not a Dr, Not a PHD!

Why do they believe they are entiteld to the equivelent salary! Less school, less dedication, less risk. Yet they believe they are entitled to $250,000 per annum as a salary for oganising contractors to do what was designed by an archeitect, oh, and get them all to arive on time.

It has forced me to embark on this risky road myself..... It is only risky because of the people to deal with. Would a more proffessional field be a risky, i.e. Lawyer, accountant?
